Thank god for this man, who has brought much needed humor into our home since the miserable failure took office.
For some reason, he was invited to be the keynote speaker at the White House Correspondents Dinner, and he was utterly relentless for a good half hour while Dubya, Laura, and a host of other VIPs had to sit in front of the room and try not to vomit. I don't know who was in charge of scheduling him to be there, but I have no doubt that he/she was rendered to a secret prison in Eastern Europe somewhere.
The audience shots are priceless- the spineless press corps sitting stone-faced as they and the administration get spanked. Good stuff, people.
Here is a link to the transcript that includes a link to the video. I highly recommend watching the video, but if your connection is slow or something, then at least read the transcript. It's a gem.
I'll leave you with a little excerpt:
"I stand by this man. I stand by this man because he stands for things. Not only for things, he stands on things. Things like aircraft carriers and rubble and recently flooded city squares. And that sends a strong message, that no matter what happens to America, she will always rebound -- with the most powerfully staged photo ops in the world."
Ouch.
Obviously I'm not commenting on your recent post, knowing me :)...but...I just wanted to give a shout out to my running buddy! I miss you terribly! And you'd be so disappointed in my running. Or should I say NOT running. I ran 14 miles 1.5 weeks ago...and that has been it. Tried to run 16 miles this weekend, but felt clubbing in London was way more important. I have a feeling I'm getting myself into a lot of trouble. When you leave me at 13.1 miles in SD...you may not see me at the final finish line! Hoping I can train hard the last couple weeks at home and then I'll just go for it on June 4. I want my life back!!! (and I think unfortunately for my body on June 4th...I'm taking it back a bit too early!)
